Over 62,000 .vn domain names granted

Hanoi (VNA) – The number of websites with the .vn domain name is rapidly increasing, according to the Viet Nam National Internet Centre (VNNIC) under the Ministry of Information and Communications. By the end of March 2008, the VNNIC had granted more than 62,000 .vn domain names, markedly higher than the 40,000 sites registering with international domain names during the same period. Domain names with Vietnam’s national code have become more attractive because second-grade .vn domain names are shorter and more convenient for Vietnamese enterprises. In addition, .vn domain names are safer and protected under Vietnamese IT Law, according to the centre.-Enditem
