17/04/2008 -- 10:16 AM

Hanoi (VNA) – Eight cities and provinces along the central coast from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa were urged to prepare for tropical storm Neoguri, currently in the East Sea .

The National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting said the areas needed to take necessary precautions.

The centre yesterday said the first storm of this year, which had come one month earlier than in prevous years, would cause heavy rains for the next three or four days.

The storm’s eye was about 330km from the coast of Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa provinces yesterday evening and conditions at sea were rough.

The Border guard Command has sent out reports on the storm to nearly 13,500 vessels that have more than 87,000 fishermen out at sea.-Enditem
