Latest technologies brought to Central Highlands

Hanoi (VNA) – A technology fair will be held in the Central Highlands of Tay Nguyen for the first time from April 24-27 with the aim of promoting technology transfer in the strategically important region.

At a press briefing in Hanoi on April 17, Cao Minh Kiem, Deputy Director of the National Science and Technologies Centre, said that the Techmart Tay Nguyen 2008 in Dak Lak province will display some 860 types of equipment and machines for engineering mechanics, electronics, information-telecom, pharmaceutical chemistry, health care, education and transport.

During the fair, seminars will be held on investment opportunities and technological transfer need in Dak Lak, and the application of information technology and biotechnology in the Central Highlands.

The Central Highlands comprises five provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Lam Dong with a population of five million. The region has great potentials for developing agro-forestry, cattle raising, hydro-power and mining.-Enditem
