Project to restore water logged areas in Dong Thap

Dong Thap (VNA) – The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Coca-Cola firm on April 18 launched a project to restore the ecology of submerged areas at the Tram Chim National Park in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap .

The 250,000 USD project is part of a global cooperation programme between the WWF and Coca-Cola on the management of flooded areas.

The project, expected to be completed in 2011, targets more than 7,000 ha in the Tram Chim Reserve, including 3,000 ha of cajuput trees, 231 species of water birds, 130 species of fish and 191 species of flora.-Enditem
