Olympic torch relay takes place peacefully in Japan

Hanoi (VNA) - The Japan leg of the Beijing Olympic torch relay reached its finishing point on April 26 in Nagano, central Japan, with famous Japanese athlete Mizuki Noguchi, Athens Olympic women's marathon gold medalist, being the last runner in the relay. Addressing the ceremony, Nagano Mayor Shoichi Washizawa expressed happiness to see that the Olympic torch brought the spirit of peace and friendship to Nagano, foreign media reported. After Japan, the flame will travel to Seoul, the Republic of Korea, its 17th stop, later the day.-Enditem
