Vietnam among Asian nations capturing Bolivia’s business interest

Buenos Aires (VNA ) – Bolivian enterprises are becoming more interested in Asian markets including Vietnam, Bolivian Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic and Commercial Relations Pablo Guzmán Laugier has said.

Enterprises in La Paz city are undertaking market studies of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Vietnam in 2008, Deputy Minister Laugier said.

A conference on Vietnam’s economic and political systems will be held in the two Bolivian cities of La Paz and Santa Cruz this May with a view to promoting the understanding and potential of Vietnam.

Bolivian Deputy Minister Guzman is expected to lead a business delegation to Vietnam this July at the invitation of Vietnamese Ambassador to Bolivia Nguyen Thac Dinh.

In 2007, Bolivia exported over 685 million USD worth of goods to Asia, mainly to Japan, the RoK and China. Vietnam ranks 9th in the list of Bolivia’s biggest importers, with import turnover reaching 918,000 USD.-Enditem
