Software firm merges with global player

HCM City (VNA) – FCG Vietnam, a major software company from Ho Chi Minh City, officially joined the US’s Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) network of global software development centres on May 6.

The company has become CSC’s newest software development centre, joining other centres operating in the US, Czech, Lithuania, Spain, India, China and Chile.

CSC President Mary Jo Morris said the merger of FCG Vietnam Company into her company’s global software development centres officially marks CSC’s presence in Vietnam .

She said Vietnam is the starting point of CSC’s strategy to diversify activities worldwide and said FCG Vietnam was chosen because of its operational capacity, workforce and high technical skill compared to other regional countries and prices.

As part of the CSC network, FCG Vietnam will focus on developing software and digital content, providing consultancy services and developing software for customers in Europe .

CSC also plans to bring its international customers to Vietnam , develop Vietnam ’s market and expand to other services.

FCG Vietnam now has more than 600 software engineers, with 25 percent of them holding international certificates such as MCSC, MCSE, Oracle, PMP. It plans to increase the number of software engineers to 1,000 by 2010.

The company’s turnover reached 145 billion VND in 2007, a 21 percent increase over 2006.-Enditem
