Addressing the Kampong Chhnang province, Prime Minister Hun Sen also called on local authorities and relevant forces to increase security for social order and stability.

Hun Sen’s appeal was made following political parties’claims there were obstacles in selecting and registering candidates for the election scheduled for July 27.

By May 5 only three of 57 political parties had registered with the National Election Committee (NEC) of Cambodia, the new Cambodian daily reported on May 6.

The three parties include the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), the Hang Dara Democratic Movement Party and the Khmer Socialist Party.
