Vietnam to hold first ever Miss Fashion

Hanoi (VNA) – Young fashionistas will get the chance to strut their stuff at the nation’s first ever Miss Fashion competition, to be held from August 15 to September 2. The event is organised by the Viet Nam Model Association and the International Trade and Fair Joint Stock Company, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism. Those eligible to apply must be aged between 18 and 26. Not only Vietnamese women living in Viet Nam or abroad can enter but foreign women who have lived in the country for at least six months can also register. The event aims to celebrate Vietnamese beauty and promote the fashion industry in a period of international integration. Thirty-one candidates will be selected to participate in the final round, to take place at Hai Phong’s Culture and Sport Palace from August 28 to September 2. Miss Fashion will receive a diamond crown and cash, together worth 120 million VND (7,500 USD); the first runner up will get a gold crown and cash, worth 80 million VND (5,000 USD); and the third prize winner will take home a silver crown and cash, adding up to 60 million VND (3,750 USD).
