Capital city establishes anti-terrorism agency

Hanoi (VNA)- The Hanoi People’s Committee issued a decision on May 6 on the set up of a Steering Board for Terrorism Combat, chaired by mayor Nguyen The Thao and with the participation of leaders of municipal relevant agencies. The board will instruct local police, military forces and people’s committees to deploy anti-terrorism programmes. The board will also design and deploy plans for defending major targets of political, security, socio-economic and diplomatic interests as well as coordinate anti-terrorism exercises with neighbouring provinces and cities. The municipal police force will play the role of an executive member in the anti-terrorism steering board.--Entitem
