Overseas Vietnamese praised for education contribution

Hanoi (VNA) – Four overseas Vietnamese were presented with the Foreign Minister’s certificates of merits in Hanoi on May 7 for their contribution through education to community development, national construction and defence. The recipients included Dau Van Khanh, Nguyen Sy Tuong and Phan Quoc Loi from Thailand and Nguyen Cong Thanh from Canada. The three Thai-based Vietnamese were honoured for supporting education for Vietnamese nationals in Thailand. The trio built, equipped and assisted the curriculum development for centres that provide free Vietnamese language and culture classes in Thailand. Professor Nguyen Cong Thanh has been working for the Asian Institute of Technology Centre in Vietnam (AITCV) which offers high quality international postgraduate education, short-term professional training and consultancy services. Thanh was commended for his hard work in boosting cooperation between Vietnamese universities and foreign partners, and training programmes towards sustainable development in Vietnam.-Enditem
