Indonesian military joins first ever drill with USf

Hanoi (VNA) – The Armed Forces of Indonesia (TNI) on May 6 joined the US 7 th fleet in Thailand for their first ever cooperative military exercises, said TNI spokesman Col. Ahmad Yani Basuki.

The “Cobra Gold” drill, which will last until May 22, is sponsored by the US Pacific Command.
The TNI has deployed 80 servicemen to join a Command Post Exercise (CPX) and Field Training Exercise (FTX), Basuki said. The CPX will take place in Thailand’s northeastern city of Korat from May 6-22 and the FTX will be held in Utapao from May 9-20.

Singapore and Japan have also sent troops to join the drill.- Enditem
