Vietnam to donate 200,000 USD to Nargis victims

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Government has pledged 200,000 USD in emergency relief for victims of cyclone Nargis in Myanmar .

Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met Myanmar Ambassador to Vietnam U Aung Thein in Hanoi on May 7 to inform him of the Vietnamese government’s decision.

The Vietnam Central Red Cross for its part initially provided 20,000 USD in aid to support the victims and sent a message of condolence to the Myanmar Government and people over the loss caused by the cyclone.-Enditem
