Berlin (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan toured Germany ’s eighth largest state of Sachsen-Anhalt on May 7-8 during his working visit to the European country that aims to further bilateral relations.
In a meeting with Governor of Sachsen-Anhalt Wolfgang Boehmer, the Vietnamese Deputy PM was told that many Sachsen-Anhalt businesspeople are eager to do business in Vietnam .
Governor Wolfgang Boehmer said a number of local entrepreneurs have recently made trips to seek partnership and investment opportunities in the Southeast Asian country.
The Governor spoke of development process similarities between his state and Vietnam and potential areas of future cooperation, in particular economic development.
Deputy PM Nhan, who is also Minister of Education and Training, told his host that he hoped to see an increase in Vietnam ’s economic, technological, vocational training and tourist cooperation with Sachsen-Anhalt.
Earlier, Deputy PM Nhan met Minister of Economic Affairs of Sachsen-Anhalt Dr. Reiner Haseloff to discuss economic cooperation.
In a press briefing held later, the Sachsen-Anhalt economic minister said the economic ties between his state and Vietnam have enjoyed a leap over the last decade and reiterated the potential of Vietnam as a future market for German businesspeople.
He referred to future possible cooperation in the fields of mechanical engineering, tourism, education and environmental technology.
The Sachsen-Anhalt minister handed over to the Vietnamese government leader a written statement on a 30,000 Euro project to train food inspectors for Vietnam , which is part of his state’s training programme reserved for developing countries.-Enditem
