Cambodia starts work on Stung Atay power plant

Phnom Penh (VNA) – A ground-breaking ceremony kicked off construction of the Stung Atay hydro-power plant and a power line linking Battambang province and Phnom Penh on May 8.

The 200 million USD hydro-power plant will have a capacity of 120MW.

When it becomes operational in 2012, the plant is expected to have an output of roughly 465 million kWh.

The 230kV power line will cost about 113 million USD and is also slated to be completed by 2012.-Enditem
