Vietnam, DPRK to boost trade ties in trade, culture

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) have agreed to boost cooperation in trade, investment, sports and cultural exchange.

The agreement was reached by Deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Vu Dung and his DPRK counterpart Kim Yong Il during the Vietnamese deputy minister’s visit to the DPRK from May 7-9 for the first annual policy exchange at deputy ministerial level.

The two deputy ministers also agreed to increase the exchange of visits and cooperation between the two sides at regional and international forums and organisations.

Deputy Minister Dung spoke about his hope for peace, stability and denuclearisation in the Korean peninsular which, he said, would make contribution to peace, stability and development in Asia-Pacific and the world at large.

During the visit, Deputy minister Dung paid courtesy visits to the vice president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly, Yang Hyong Sop, as well as Foreign Minister Pac Ui Chun and acting chairman of the Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Mun Jae Chol, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Myong San.-Enditem
