Sanyo to build plant in Bac Giang province

Hanoi (VNA) – Japanese manufacturer Sanyo will pour 40 million USD into an electronic optical transmission components plant in Vietnam ’s northern Bac Giang province.

Sanyo on May 9 signed an agreement with the Saigon-Bac Giang Industrial Zone Company of Vietnam to build the plant at the company’s Quang Chau Industrial Zone.

The plant construction will begin in June and it is expected to turn out products by early 2009.

The Saigon-Bac Giang Industrial Zone Company is a subsidiary of the Saigon Investment Group which has so far invested in more than 20 industrial zones and 10 apartment buildings and resorts at a total investment of more than 1 billion USD.

Sanyo products popular in Vietnam include washing machines, refrigerators and energy-saving and environmental-friendly solar battery.-Enditem
