Air, water pollution increase in HCM City

HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City ’s irrigation canals such as Thay Cai and Kenh B are being polluted by waste water discharged from industrial zones, including Le Minh Xuan and Tan Phu Trung, said Le Hong Hanh, the deputy director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

City authorities have decided to close four enterprises in the Tan Phu Trung zone because of serious pollution. They have also worked with IZ managing boards to improve the situation. The city plans to set up an Environmental Protection Steering Committee in an effort to reach solution.-Enditem
