VN takes gold at world junior taekwondo champs

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese martial artist Hoang Ha Giang has secured a gold medal in the women’s 49 kg category at the 7th World Junior Taekwondo Championships in Izmir, Turkey. Giang, who was champion of the last event hosted by Ho Chi Miuh City in 2006, beat Sweden’s Agren Jennifer in the final after overcame rivals from Cyprus, Australia, the US and Russia. As many as 44 athletes competed in the 49 kg class at the five-day tourney that is to wrap up on May 11.-Enditem
