Thua Thien-Hue starts Vesak celebrations

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – A moc duc (statue washing) ceremony was held by the central Thua Thien-Hue province’s Buddhist Church at the Dieu De pagoda on May 12, beginning the celebration of the United Nations Day of Vesak in the province. The same day, the Tu Dam pagoda hosted a ceremony of opening prayers. In the evening, the executive council of the provincial Buddhist Church will launch an installation art performance symbolising the life of the Buddha on Huong river, lasting till May 19. On the occasion, an exhibition of 40 panoramas made by photographer Nguyen Thinh and a painting exhibition will be held.-Enditem
