Ben Tre launches biggest poverty reduction project

Ben Tre (VNA) – The Mekong delta province of Ben Tre on May 12 launched its biggest ever poverty reduction project which is expected to help the province reduce 2 percent of its poor households annually between now and 2014. Total investment for the project is 24.2 million USD, including a preferential loan of 17.8 million USD from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The project will focus on improving investment and business environment and rural business development services in addition to expanding market access opportunities for poor people. Around 50 communes with 44,000 households and nearly 10,000 small and medium businesses in the locality will participate in the project.-Enditem
