State President receives Lao army general

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Laos’ armed forces should strengthen political and ideological education and heighten vigilance to defeat any saboteurs’ conspiracy, State President Nguyen Minh Triet said. While receiving Major General Sengnouane Sayalat, Chief of the General Political Department of the Lao People’s Army, in Hanoi on May 13, President Triet stressed the importance of the consolidation of the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two people and two armies. Vietnam highly valued Laos’ development achievements in all fields, affirming that Vietnam always attaches importance to the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and two people. Vietnam will do its best to support Laos’ development, he said. The Lao guest said the Laos Defence Ministry and the General Political Department of the Lao People’s Army highly appreciated the support of Vietnam’s counterparts in staff training.-Enditem
