VFF signs youth training agreement

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Football Federation and Aspire, an international youth football training centre, inked a cooperation project titled ‘Football Dreams’ in HCM City on May 13.

Under the programme, which will run in 12 countries, the three most talented kids in Vietnam will be picked for training in Qatar .

As scheduled, coaches from Spanish Barcelona’s youth team will eye 740 children under 12-years-old from 64 teams nationwide to compete in two rounds in HCM City from this month to August.

Top training has been available for aspiring young footballers in Vietnam since the HCM City Football Federation, former French footballer Dominique Rocheteau and the French Scavi Company set up the Scavi Rocheteau Young Football Training Centre at Thanh Long Sports Centre.

Also last year, England’s Arsenal football team and the Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group opened the Arsenal HAGL JMG Football Academy , where 11-year-old kids get seven year’s free training.-Enditem
