Thai monk praises Vietnam’s Vesak organisation

Hanoi (VNA) – A senior Thai monk on May 15 praised the Vietnamese Government and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha for hosting a successful United Nations Day of Vesak.

Most Venerable Phra Oharmakoshjarn from the Mahachnlalongkorn University of Thailand made the statement while attending a banquet organised in Hanoi on May 15 by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to honour international delegations to the event.

The Thai monk, making his speech on behalf of delegates, said the UN Day of Vesak is a driving force for Buddhists around the world to gather and jointly move for a peaceful world.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu, Vice Permanent President of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, said the event is the most important milestone in the Vietnamese Buddhism’s 2,000 history.-Enditem
