Hanoi (VNA) – The Top 200 brands of Vietnam will be recognised at an awards ceremony to be held in September in the capital, the Vietnam Young Business Association announced at a conference yesterday in Hanoi .
The winning brands will be selected based on a number of criteria, such as profitability, competitiveness and the position of the brand’s products, product quality, technological sophistication, environmental impact, brand development and marketing.
The big change at the sixth annual Gold Star Awards will be the establishment of a regional tier of awards in addition to the national contest, a move aimed at meeting the strong increases in both the scale and number of enterprises that have registered to compete for the awards over the last few years, said the association’s vice chairman- cum-general secretary, Pham Tan Cong.
Only enterprises whose brands receive regional-level awards will have the opportunity to participate in the running for the national-level awards, Cong noted, adding that this would better assess enterprises in order to enhance the quality of the award.
The sixth Gold Star Awards aims to foster, on behalf of Vietnamese business, better conditions in which to launch new brands and promote existing trademarks, as well as to improve the visibility of Vietnamese brands internationally.
Winning brands will be selected from a wide range of sectors, including electronics, IT, real estate, securities, engineering, banking, finance, agro-forestry-fisheries, beverages, textiles and garments, handicrafts, trade and tourism.-Emditem
