Monkey festival slated for June 1

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – A festival to feature the story of King Monkey will be held by Long Phu Tourist Company in Hon Lao (Monkey Island), north of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa province on June 1. A troop of 800 monkeys live on the island, which is a 15-minute boat ride from Luong Son Beach in Nha Trang. They are cared for by a management staff that is responsible for taming the monkeys and preventing the spread of any disease. There are also rabbits and salamanders on the island but the monkeys all of them are friendly, are the most popular attraction. At the festival, children will play games including painting clay statues, meeting the characters in the story of the monkey warrior, ride ostriches and kayak.-Enditem
