Laos’ economic renewal to be reviewed

Vientiane (VNA) – Vietnamese social scientists will assist Laos in assessing implementation of its renewal policies in a move to meet the country’s socio-economic development needs for the future. Vietnamese and Lao scientists will sum up the results and shortcomings of economic renewal policies in each region of the country that were set by the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party’s fourth congress in 1986. A delegation from the Vietnam Institute of Social Sciences, led by its director Professor Do Hoai Nam , recently made a working visit to Laos to finalise a cooperation plan. The two countries also agreed Vietnam will review Laos’s investment policies, external activities, political apparatus and their impacts on economic development.-Enditem
