29/05/2008 -- 9:16 PM

Hanoi (VNA) – First Vice President of Chile’s Socialist Party Isabel Allende said she hoped Vietnam and Chile will continue to develop cooperation in economy, trade and tourism in the future.

At a meeting with Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan in Hanoi on May 29, the daughter of late Chilean President Salvador Allende also spoke highly of Vietnam ’s social-economic achievements.

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan said she hoped her counterpart would help improve the role of women in Chile as well as boost exchanges between women of the two countries, especially as Allende is the only female representative in Chilean Socialist Party leadership.

Doan said she was also pleased by the fine development of Vietnam-Chile friendship cooperation.

The Vietnamese people will never forget Chilean support in Vietnam ’s national defence in the past and the current country development, she said.-Enditem
