Nation boasts 48 mln. mobile phone subscribers

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s mobile phone service providers have so far boasted more than 48 million subscribers, with 90 percent of them being pre-paid users. The statistics were released by the Ministry of Information and Communications on June 3 after a survey of four major providers: VinaPhone, MobiFone, Viettel and S-Fone. The survey indicated that Viettel was taking the lead in the number of mobile phone subscribers, with 19.42 million. It was followed by MobiFone, with more than 13.4 million; VinaPhone, 12.1 million and S-Fone, 3.14 million. The survey also showed that Viettel, MobiFone and VinaPhone saw network performance rates of 70 percent and more, while S-Fone reported only 43 percent in its CDMA network performance.-Enditem
