Permanent Deputy PM kicks off Europe trip in Denmark

Copenhagen (VNA) – Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung arrived in Copenhagen on June 9, beginning his three-day official visit to Denmark .

The Vietnamese Deputy PM and his entourage held a working session with Minister for Climate and Energy Connie Hedegaard and spoke about ways climate change is affecting many countries, including Vietnam . Denmark will host an international conference on global climate change in 2009.

The Danish Minister for Climate and Energy accepted Deputy PM Hung request for assistance in ways to save energy, raise efficiency of energy use, protect ecosystems and combat climate change.

Deputy PM Hung also attended an artistic performance highlighting Vietnam Day in northern Europe performed by Vietnamese artists.

He also viewed an exhibition by Vietnamese contemporary painters, which highlights Vietnamese culture and aims to promote the cultural ties between Vietnam and Denmark .

As scheduled, the Vietnamese government leader will pay a courtesy visit to Queen Margrethe II and hold talks with his counterpart Bendt Bendtsen on June 10.

The visit to Denmark is part of Deputy PM Hung’s European visit that also includes Finland and Sweden , from June 9 to 17.-Enditem
