Institute joins US firm in infectious disease research

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) said it will cooperate with the US HJF Medical Research International Inc. (HJFMRI) to conduct infectious diseases research. A memorandum of agreement to this effect was signed between the NIHE and the HJFMRI on June 20, which also initiated collaboration between the two organisations and the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences (AFRIMS) The Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and the National Institution of Allergy and Infectious Diseases under the US Department of Health and Human Services’ National Institutes of Health will support the research and focus on projects in Vietnam involving avian influenza, enteric pathogens, plague and other infectious diseases.-Enditem
