Police bring to light 4,800 drug-related cases

Dien Bien (VNA) – Policemen in Vietnam’s northwestern region uncovered 4,824 drug-related cases between June 2007 and June 2008. They seized 108 kg of heroine, 28 kg of opium and 71,297 Methamphetamine tablets in addition to more than 6,700 people involved. The figures were made known at a conference to review the one-year collaboration of drug enforcement forces in the northwestern region held in Dien Bien province on June 30. Northwestern police set to reinforce cooperation with border guards, customs officers and other concerned agencies to combat cross-border drug trafficking effectively.-Enditem
