Fires in Hanoi high-rise car park

Hanoi (VNA) – A fire broke out in an underground car park in a 17-floor building in Cau Dien town, Tu Liem district in Hanoi on July 2.

The fire raged for 30 minutes, burnt three cars and damaged six others in the underground floor of the My Dinh 1 Building, the first high rise apartment complex of its kind. No casualities were reported.

Local residents and the building’s security guard said they did not hear the fire alarm go off.

Another big fire destroyed 4,700 tonnes of cassave and 2,500 sq.m of store of a companjy in Bien Hoa city in the Southern province of Dong Nai yesterday.

The eight-hour fire at the Bien Hoa Sugar Joint-Stock Company caused a loss of 15 billion VND (937,500 USD).-Enditem
