Hanoi (VNA) – FIFA President Sepp Blatter and AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam are scheduled to visit Vietnam on July 31 and August 1, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has said.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter is expected to attend an inauguration of the FIFA-funded artificial playground of the National Young Football Training Centre in the My Dinh Sports Complex during his short visit to Vietnam .
Besides the event, the VFF has also announced Vietnamese footballers’ playing and training programmes inside and outside the country from now to the end of the year.
The abroad playing agenda will start with a friendship match between the Vietnam squad and the China Olympic team in China on July 6.
Coming up will be Vietnamese Futsal footballers’ first-ever matches at the Asian Beach Games 2008 in Indonesia in October.
The U-17 national team plans to join a tournament for Asian junior teams in the Czech Republic from August 15-28 in preparations for the Southeast Asian Games in Laos in 2009.
According to the VFF, Vietnamese footballers were invited to play in the Merderka Cup 2008 of the Malaysian Football Federation.
Besides abroad matches, local players will play in the country’s tournaments, including an international tournament in Ho Chi Minh City from October 1-5, the VFF Cup 2008 tournament in Hanoi from October 28 to November 1 st and BTV Cup 2008 tournament in southern Binh Duong province from November 28 to December 7.
The final round of the Southeast Asia Women’s Football Championship 2008 will take place in the Thanh Long Sports Centre in Ho Chi Minh City from October 8-21.
At this Championship, Vietnamese female players will compete against rivals from Myanmar, Indonesia, Laos and Malaysia in group A, while Thai, Australian, Filipino and Singaporean players play in group B.-Enditem
