AFC pledges help to Hanoi’s footballers

11/07/2008 -- 10:12 PM

Khanh Hoa (VNA) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on July 7 pledged to make recommendations to the Hanoi Football Federation on ways to develop football in a long-term and sustainable manner.

During the launch of the “Vision Asia – Vision Vietnam” programme in Hanoi, the programme director Brendan Menton said by the end of August, AFC will provide a plan to boost football development in Hanoi and it will guide the federation in carrying out the project.

The AFC had earlier pledged to assist the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation to improve its management capacity, develop clubs and organise competitions under the “Vision Asia” program.

It will also assist in training young players, coaches and referees as well as hold courses on marketing, club management and others.

The AFC’s “Vision Asia” programme has been expanded to 10 countries. Vietnam has joined the programme for three years with two first localities, central Nghe An and southern Long An provinces.-Enditem
