Nha Trang (VNA) – All 80 hopeful contestants of the Miss Universe 2008 along with the event’s organisers are gearing up for the start of the competition’s final round scheduled to air live on July 14 on Vietnam’s VTV 3, the American TV network NBC, and the world’s second-largest Spanish-language content producer, Telemundo.
As previsously announced, the celebrity judges for the beauty pageant who will crown this year’s beauty queen include Donald Trump Jr., executive vice president of the Trump Organisation, fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, the hot film star Nadine Velazquez, 2004 Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins, Louis Licari, the celebrily colourist and make-up expert and last, not but not least, Joint Nguyen, vice chairman of Hoan Cau, Invetment and Construction company.
Jerry Springer and Mel B will host the live telecast of the 57th annual Miss Universe competition from the Crown Convention Centre in Nha Trang City , Khanh Hoa province, at 8am on July 14.
The sensational pop star Lady GaGa is scheduled to perform her sensational hit “Just Dance”. Lady GaGa’s dance –pop, electro-pop and disco tunes have rocked venues around the world and she is expected to bring the same excitement to this year’s event.
By July 11, more than 300 correspondents, including over 40 foreign ones, had come to Nha Trang to cover the event.
Beauty-admirers in more than 170 countries are eagerly avaiting the moment Japan ’s Riyo Mori, Miss Universe 2007, will crown her successor at the conclusion of the telecast.-Enditem
