Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Association for the Protection of Disabled People and Orphan Children has announced that it aims to provide 1,800 disabled people with vocational training by the end of the year.
It also said it has targeted to achieve 70 percent employment rate for those that undergo the training.
The association will present 2,000 scholarships to disabled and orphaned students alongside funding cataract surgery for 2,000 blind people.
It will also donate 1,000 wheelchairs to people with disabilities and 100 bikes for orphans and children of war invalids and fallen soldiers.
The association says it will also continue to build houses for disadvantaged people and support them in livelihoods as well as offer medical check-ups and free pharmaceuticals.
In the first six months of the year, the association provided vocational training for 1,838 disabled people, cataract surgery for more than 2,000 blind people, wheelchairs for 5,230 invalids, 974 bikes for students and free medicine for more than 12,600 handicapped people and orphans.-Enditem
