All six Vietnamese students win prizes at 49th IMO

Hanoi (VNA) – All six Vietnamese students who attended the 49th International Math Olympiad (IMO), held in Spain from July 10-21, won prizes, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.

They include two golds, bagged by Le Ngoc Anh and Hoang Duc Y, 12th graders of the Lam Son high school in central Thanh Hoa province.

Two silvers went to Nguyen Pham Dat, an 11th grader from Hanoi, and Do Thi Thu Thao, a 12th grader from northern Hai Duong province.

The two bronze medals were taken by Dang Tran Tien Vinh from Ho Chi Minh City and Duong Trong Hoang from Vinh city, central Nghe An province.

The Vietnamese team got a total of 159 points at the Olympiad, ranking 12th among nearly 100 participating countries and territories.

China ranks first with 217 points, followed by Russia (199 points).-Enditem
