Phnom Penh (VNA) – Everything is ready for Cambodia’s parliament election scheduled for July 27, the Cambodian National Election Commission (NEC) said at a press briefing on July 21.

The NEC on July 20 completed the transportation of more than 10 million ballot papers and 32,000 indelible inkpots to 24 constituencies nationwide. The transportation was monitored by with the witness of representatives from political parties, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and international observers.

Observers will witness the vote counting right after the vote which is scheduled to end at 15:00 of July 27. At this year’s election, votes will be counted during the day without delaying to another day like the 2003 election.

Vote counting will be also monitored by political parties and NGO representatives and the results will be announced at constituencies.

A total of over 8.1 million Cambodians are registered to vote at more than 15,000 polling stations this year.-Enditem
