French Senate President visits Hue culture

Thua Thien-Hue (VNA) – French Senate President Christian Poncelet said he wants to give more support to preserve Hue culture, especially the restoration of Hue traditional houses. During his visit to the former imperial city of Hue on July 30, the senator said the pledge of support in conservation was part of France ’s aim to tighten Vietnam-France relations. While working with local authorities at Thai Hoa palace after visiting several French-funded works, the President praised Hue ’s cultural value and its successful organisation of Hue festivals. Hosted by the Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Thien, the French senate was also able to enjoy court music, a UNESCO-recognised world cultural heritage.-Enditem
