Plan helps juvenile offenders’ re-integration

20/08/2008 -- 10:02 PM

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Public Security and the Plan organisation in Vietnam will jointly carry out a project to help juvenile offenders re-integrate into the community and prevent others from breaking law.

The project, worth nearly 5 billion VND financed by the Dutch government, aims to boost educational and training quality in special schools for juvenile offenders and give career guidance for them.

It will also help them re-integrate into the community after leaving schools, reduce the number of juvenile offenders and improve the law system.

Addressing the signing ceremony, the country director of Plan, Mark. T. Pierce, expressed his wish that the project will provide essential living skills for juvenile offenders and help them avoid illegal actions.

The project will be launched for nearly 4,000 students in four special schools in Da Nang city, Dong Nai, Long An and Ninh Binh provinces.-Enditem
