Ha Noi, Feb. 25 (VNA) – The following were Viet Nam’s major events during the week of Feb. 20-24: · Prime Minister Phan Van Khai said at an Indonesia-Viet Nam Business Forum held in Jakarta on Feb. 23 that the Vietnamese Government is willing to create favourable conditions for Indonesian and Vietnamese businesses to promote cooperation for the interest of both countries and to bring bilateral cooperative ties to a new height. · Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh highlighted a two-day visit to Viet Nam by Spanish King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia de Gresia from Feb. 20, describing it as an important event in the friendly and cooperative ties between Viet Nam and Spain since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1977. · National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An and Sri Lankan Parliament Speaker W. I. M. Lokubandara agreed on the need to share more experiences in law-making and supervision work as well as increase bilateral cooperation in international forums during the talks held in Ha Noi on Feb. 21. · Vietnamese and Indian Foreign Ministers have pledged to further promote bilateral cooperation in finance, culture, transportation, agriculture and aquaculture during their third political consultative meeting in Ha Noi on Feb. 20-21. · Over 800 delegates from all 21 members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum attended five meetings in Ha Noi on Feb. 21 as part of a series of 25 meetings of the first APEC senior officials’ meeting (SOM I). · An agreement on joint search for Vietnamese volunteer soldiers fallen during wars in Cambodia was signed between Viet Nam’s southern province of Tay Ninh and five provinces in southwestern Cambodia. · An Office for International Cooperation (TCO) under the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation was inaugurated in Ha Noi on Feb. 21. The inauguration ceremony was held during Spanish King Juan Carlos’ first official visit to Viet Nam. · A Vietnamese-Italian cultural centre opened in Ha Noi on Feb. 21, aiming at promoting Italian language study in Viet Nam as well as cultural exchanges between the two countries. · The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs announced the 8 th National Week on Labour Safety and Sanitation and Fire Prevention Promotion in Ha Noi on Feb. 23. · Vietnamese fine arts and handicrafts, silk, wood and foodstuffs lured visitors at a Mekong Expo, which opened in Tokyo on Feb. 21 and runs until Feb. 24.-Enditem
