Overseas Vietnamese give opinions on draft Political Report

25/02/2006 -- 9:49 PM

HCM City, Feb. 25 (VNA) - More than 50 overseas Vietnamese (OVs) gathered in Ho Chi Minh City on Feb. 25 to give opinions on the draft Political Report which will be presented at the 10th National Party Congress.

Nguyen Thien Tong, a US resident, said that the draft report should reflect the Party's determination to reform personnel policies, employment and democracy and to create more specific conditions for the young to participate in national construction, especially admitting more young talents to the Party.

Tong's opinions were supported by many other OVs, who also called for science-technology, education-training and human resources development policies, as the policies will encourage OVs to make contributions to their homeland.

Almost all participants in the meeting shared a common view that the draft report is well-prepared and comprehensive, with fundamental decisions for national development in the new stage.

They also affirmed that the collection of public opinions, including the OV community, is a vivid and specific manifestation of democracy and the Party's and the State's desire to promote the intellectual strength of the entire nation.-Enditem
