28/02/2006 -- 4:34 PM

Tuyen Quang, Feb. 28 (VNA) - A 110kV electricity transmission line between China’s Yunnan province and northern Tuyen Quang province of Viet Nam was commissioned on Feb. 28 after five months of construction.

The line, built by the Electricity Company No. 1 and the Electricity of Tuyen Quang Company, will help raise to 110MW the output of electricity purchased from the Yunnan Power Grid Company through the Thanh Thuy border gate in Ha Giang province.

Nguyen Phuc Vinh, Director of the Electricity Company No. 1, said his company has been negotiating with the Chinese company to buy electricity for northern Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho and Lang Son provinces.

He added that the two sides will hold a seminar in March to discuss the purchase of more electricity from China for Viet Nam’s 500kV national electricity grid.-Enditem
