Ha Noi (VNA) - The Government on Oct. 20 issued a decree guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Anti-Corruption Law, which took effect on June 1, 2006.
The Decree 120/2006/ND-CP stipulates that heads of agencies and organisations hold responsible for organising and instructing the provision of information. They must take full responsibility for violations in this respect at their agencies and organisations as regulated in the said-above law and decree, as well as other regulations.
The Government Inspectorate is asked to provide information on corruption prevention and control to ministries, sectors and localities within 10 days after receiving a request. It will be responsible for building and managing an anti-corruption data system, the decree says. The Government Inspectorate is also required to coordinate with the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee and its member organisations, the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, business and professional associations, and press agencies to regularly exchange and provide information and documents related to anti-corruption activities.
The decree states that the police and State inspection agencies have the jurisdiction to handle denunciations, as well as the obligation to form and made public telephones, e-mail boxes and addresses to receive denunciations about corrupt cases.
Those who are assigned to receive denunciations fail to do their tasks, intentionally delay or do not forward them to relevant agencies, organisations and individuals for processing will be disciplined or take criminal charges depending on their violations.-Enditem
