HCM City (VNA) - A senior official of Ho Chi Minh City on Oct. 24 described corruption prevention and control as a major task of the municipal Party Committee and stressed the need to mobilise all resources for the work.
Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, made the statement at a conference of the city's senior officials to implement an action plan on strengthening the Party's leadership in the fight against corruption and wastefulness.
The action plan put forward three important solutions, namely improving Party committees' leadership in corruption prevention and control; ensuring a clean and transparent administrative system for efficient governance; and promoting the supervisory role played by elected agencies, socio-political organisations and the people in the struggle against corruption.
Under the draft action plan, the city will increase inspection and investigation into corruption cases and establish a steering committee on anti-corruption which will assist the people's committees at all levels in the work.
The city will also popularise the Law on Corruption Prevention and Control and enact relevant documents to help implement the Government's plan of action on executing the law.-Enditem
