Vientiane (VNA) - The Passason, newspaper of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, on Jan. 17 welcomed Viet Nam 's full membership of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), saying that it reflected the Vietnamese government's strong political commitment to international economic integration.
WTO membership would accelerate Viet Nam's further involvement in the global economic process, turning the country into an industrialised and modernised nation, the paper said.
It reviewed Viet Nam's achievements over the past 20 years of renovation and said that by becoming a WTO member, Viet Nam has opportunities to promote sustainable economic development.
The paper cited Vietnamese Trade Minister Truong Dinh Tuyen and Chairman of the National Assembly's Commission for External Relations Vu Mao as saying that WTO membership would have a great impact on socio-economic life in Viet Nam.--Enditem |
