Ha Noi (VNA) - The Police Department for Corruption Criminals under the People's Police General Department and the Public Security Ministry, made its debut in Ha Noi on Feb. 3.
Colonel Nguyen Hoa Binh, Deputy Head of the People's Police General Department was appointed Director of the department, which is called C37.
Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said not only C37, but the entire police force, legislative agencies, administrative officials and Party members must study the Party's policy on corruption prevention and fight it as it threatens the existence of the current regime.
PM Dung said the national renewal process has obtained some important achievements, but economic development has not been sustainable. According to the government leader, effective fighting against corruption will contribute to ensuring a sustainable socio-economic development, maintaining and developing the regime's character and strengthening people's trust.
Apart from being directly involved in fighting corruption C37 is required to give advice to higher authorities in building an effective anti-corruption mechanism, PM Dung said.-Enditem
