Brussels (VNA) - Viet Nam for the first time attended a session of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) General Assembly as an official member in Geneva, Switzerland, on Feb. 7.
Ambassador Ngo Quang Xuan, Vietnamese representative to WTO, on behalf of the government, expressed thanks to General Assembly President Eirik Glenne, General Director Pascal Lamy and other WTO members for their support for Viet Nam's entrance into the organisation.
Ambassador Xuan affirmed Viet Nam's determination to fulfill its commitments to all fields of negotiations such as agriculture, industry and service. Viet Nam wished that other WTO members would continue their support for Viet Nam's endeavour.
Xuan stressed Viet Nam, as the 150th member of the WTO, would closely cooperate with other members, especially those in the common interest groups, to obtain set targets.
Viet Nam's presence at the session was welcomed by the General Assembly President and many member countries' representatives.-Enditem
