Ha Noi (VNA) – On Mar. 3, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly (NA) held a session to review and make recommendations on the Government’s report regarding the implementation of the Anti-corruption Law.
According to remarks by Tran The Vuong, Deputy Chairman of the NA’s Law Committee, and Trang A Pao, Chairman of the NA Council of Ethnic Minorities, the current corruption situation is complicated, occurring in various fields, industries and levels and causing serious consequences as well as discontent among the people, but the Government’s report did not state further details.
They said that there were some shortcomings in implementing the law, while a number of ministries and industries have not worked out their action plans for the execution of the law.
Regarding the Government’s report, deputy Do Duy Thuong, Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front's Central Committee, said the Government needs to focus on preventive measures in order to wipe out corruption and wastefulness.
He also added that relevant agencies should closely coordinate with the Fatherland Front and other organisations to strengthen their supervision and anti-corruption functions.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong, the Government has worked out three out of nine decrees needed for the implementation of the Anti-corruption Law.
The Deputy PM said that a decree on transparency of property and incomes will be promulgated in the coming days so that it can be applied during the upcoming NA election.-Enditem
